Improved ALG EMR Shim Chart
ALG, sister (wife?) company to Geissele, puts out a great line of products. I’m especially fond of their EMR handguards. They’re super light, slim, streamlined, and ideal for the shooter who prefers to just carry the rails he needs. They are … Continue reading

2017 Season Prep
Apologies to anyone who was following me. Life kind of got in the way. Three seasons of Sniper Adventure Challenge, teaching classes, and getting sucked into long-range work are mostly to blame. NFA came calling and most of my firearms are now … Continue reading

Haven’t quite had enough rounds through my G42 yet to write a full review, but just some initial reactions: The 6 rounds I shot post-match yesterday were enough to tell me this is my new carry gun. It shoots like … Continue reading

2013 Sniper Adventure Challenge
I haven’t had time to post recently; just between the competition schedule, work, and life in general, things have gotten out of hand. But I thought I’d take the opportunity to write about a competition I’m headed off to later … Continue reading
Things no one told me about reloading
Got to thinking today about all the things I’ve learned about reloading that frustrated the hell out of me when I started. Other things would just have been nice to know. Some of these, in retrospect, are obvious. Other things, … Continue reading
Update 2012-05-24
Haven’t had much time lately to write, even though quite a bit has happened since the last update. Then again, my progress hasn’t been really noteworthy. Work has been pretty demanding, so I haven’t been able to keep up with … Continue reading
Tighten up your Magpul CTR Stock
The Magpul CTR stock is pretty popular. Thing is, I’ve noticed a lot of them, particularly in the commercial spec tubes, are loose and rattle a lot. So loose, in fact, that the friction lock lever doesn’t even do anything. … Continue reading
